Paychex Climbs to No. 12 on Training Top 125
Delivering more than one million training hours to its 14,000 employees last fiscal year, Paychex, Inc., a leading provider of integrated human capital management solutions for payroll, HR, retirement, and insurance services, has been recognized as one of the Top 125 training organizations by Training magazine for the 18th consecutive year. The company landed at number 12 this year, up two spots from 2018.
“For decades, Paychex has been uncompromising in its dedication to world-class employee learning and development, so it is a source of great pride that our training programs are continually named as one of the top reasons people choose to work at Paychex,” said Laurie Zaucha, vice president of human resources and organizational development. “In helping employees – from new hires to seasoned veterans – develop as professionals, we grow into a more knowledgeable, dynamic organization and enrich the customer experience that we’re able to deliver for our clients, demonstrating our long-term commitment to them and to our industry.”
Paychex also received a 2019 Training Top 125 Best Practice Award for DevelopU, a leadership tool that provides ongoing and on-demand learning with targeted development opportunities that drive the integration of core competencies, company culture, and organizational values.
In fiscal 2018, Paychex employees completed more than 260,000 instructor-led training (ILT) hours at the company’s corporate headquarters in Rochester, N.Y., and in 12 regional centers around the country, as well as almost 200,000 virtual training hours. In addition, employees completed more than 150,000 self-study pre-work hours prior to ILT programs, 280,000 online module hours, and 150,000 manager-led training hours across 100-plus locations.
Paychex empowers its employees to embrace a career-long approach to learning and development, making just-in-time training materials easily accessible through 12 ongoing training libraries, a professional development program, and Paychex TV, which includes a collection of more than 500 training videos. The company is also focused on helping its clients succeed with employee training and development, offering a cloud-based learning management system (LMS) called Paychex Learning.
The Top 125 ranking is determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including demonstrated innovation and financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs, and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives. The complete Training Top 125 list is published in the March/April issue of Training magazine.
